Learn Dutch with Personal Attention in Utrecht

Hallo and Welcome! My name is Martine and I Look Forward to Guiding You in Learning the Dutch Language.

My name is Martine, and I’m a Dutch teacher with more than 16 years of experience teaching Dutch as a Second Language (NT2).

I help expats and international professionals feel more confident using Dutch, at work, in everyday life, and in conversations with the people around them.

I have always enjoyed working with language and, above all, with people.

After completing various studies and working in different fields, I eventually found the profession that truly suits me.

In 2009, I obtained my qualification as a teacher of Dutch as a Second Language (NT2) at the University of Amsterdam. Since then, I have been teaching Dutch to non-native speakers, both privately and in groups.

Over the years, I have gained extensive experience teaching people from different countries, cultures and professional backgrounds. What I enjoy most is seeing students become more confident and actually start using Dutch in their daily lives.

For five years, I worked within the quality framework of the Blik op Werk quality mark.

Working according to high-quality standards taught me the importance of structure, professionalism and continuously adapting lessons to the needs of each student. Those principles still form the foundation of every lesson at Tijd voor Taal in Utrecht.

While working at various language schools, I noticed that large groups often leave too little room for personal attention and too little opportunity to speak. That is why I started my own language school with one clear principle: Small groups make a big difference.

At Tijd voor Taal in Utrecht, groups consist of a maximum of four students. This means more speaking time, more personal attention and plenty of opportunity to practise Dutch in a relaxed and supportive environment.

Lessons focus on Dutch you can actually use: conversations at work, everyday situations, making appointments, talking to colleagues and neighbours, and all those little moments in which Dutch suddenly becomes part of your life.

From my home base in the Utrecht region, I offer Dutch language training to students from across the province of Utrecht.
